It consists of cards containing information about the missing person and the enquirer. Upon the end of the search, the result is written on the reverse side of the card on the person sought.
The card index has been compiled since 1945-1946.
The card index is arranged by surname in alphabetic order.
It contains more than four million cards.
The card index has not been digitalised.
Since 2003, a digital database has also been used.
